Comments on any web page

LiveNotes puts a conversation layer over the pages you already read. Highlight a claim worth questioning or a paragraph worth remembering, and say so. Everyone else with the extension sees the mark and can reply.

How it works

Install the extension, select some text on any page, and leave a note. The passage is marked for the next reader, who can hover it to see what you said. Notes stay attached even when sites redesign around them — and when a page changes too much, the note says so rather than pointing at the wrong sentence.

It stays quiet

LiveNotes makes no network requests at all on sites where nobody has commented, which is most of the web. It does not send us your browsing history. The extension's settings page shows a live count of requests made, so you can check that rather than take our word for it.

The privacy policy explains exactly what is collected and why, including the device signal used to catch people running several accounts to evade a ban.

Moderated, with a way to argue back

Comments can be reported. Reports from long-standing accounts count for more than reports from accounts created this morning. Anything hidden can be appealed, and reporting things that turn out to be fine costs the reporter.

Optional. Private notes only you can see, no cooldown between comments, unlimited highlights per page, editing without a time limit, custom themes and profile cards. Pro does not give your comments more visibility and does not exempt anyone from moderation. More about Pro.
