LiveNotes is operated by [CONTROLLER]. By installing the extension or posting a comment, you agree to what follows.

Your account

• You need a Google account to post. Reading requires no account.
• One person, one account. Running several to evade limits or manufacture agreement is a breach of these terms.
• You are responsible for what is posted from your account.
• You must be old enough to consent to data processing where you live: 13 in most places, 16 across much of the EEA.

What you post

You keep ownership of your comments. You grant us a licence to store, display and distribute them through the service, which is simply what publishing them means. That licence ends when you delete them, except for copies in moderation records.

Do not post:

• Content that is illegal where you or the reader are
• Harassment, threats, or content targeting someone because of who they are
• Someone's private information, including addresses and phone numbers
• Sexual content involving minors, which we report to the authorities
• Spam, advertising, or link schemes
• Impersonation of another person, a company, or LiveNotes staff

Remember where your comments appear. They are attached to someone else's page and read by people who did not seek them out.

Moderation

Comments can be reported by anyone. Reports carry weight according to the reporter's standing, and enough weight hides a comment automatically, pending review.

Three things follow from that, and we hold ourselves to them:

• Automatic hiding is reversible. It is a pause, not a verdict, and you are told when it happens.
• You can appeal anything. Every hidden or removed comment has an appeal route in the extension. A successful appeal restores the comment and refunds the penalty.
• False reporting costs the reporter. Reporting things that turn out to be fine lowers your own standing.

We may remove content or suspend accounts for breaching these terms. Repeated or serious breaches lead to permanent removal.

LiveNotes Pro

• Billed through Stripe on a recurring basis until cancelled.
• Cancel any time. Pro continues until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Pro is customisation and the removal of limits that exist for abuse control. It does not give your comments more visibility, and it does not exempt you from moderation or change how reports against you are weighed.
• If we materially reduce what Pro includes, you may cancel for a pro-rata refund of the current period.

Site owners

Website operators can have LiveNotes disabled on their domains entirely. See site owners. We honour these without argument.

Availability

The service is provided as it is, without warranty. We do not promise it will be available continuously or that comments will be preserved indefinitely: comments older than 180 days with no likes, replies or reports are pruned. Export your data if you want to keep it.

Liability

Comments are written by users, not by us. We do not endorse them and are not responsible for their accuracy. Where the law allows, our liability is limited to what you have paid us in the previous twelve months, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including for death, personal injury, or fraud.

Ending it

You can delete your account at any time from the extension's settings. We may suspend or end an account that breaches these terms. If we end your account without cause, we refund any unused Pro period.

Changes

We will give notice in the extension before material changes take effect. Continuing to use LiveNotes after that means you accept them.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of [JURISDICTION]. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections you have where you live.
